![]() ![]() I am confident it is to do with the prop-shaft as I had a secong hand one fitted a couple of weeks ago and the noise was there after that, it WAS quite quiet by has got louder and more frequent since. ![]() I figure if I'm gonna take the propshaft out to replace 1 thing, I may as well replace all the bearings!?!? Then if I completely back off there is a loud squeeking noise OR if i get the revs just right and cruise at a constant speed I hear a loud Screeching/shreaking noise. ![]() What noise does the Homokinetic (cv type) joint make when its worn, asking cos I drove to work this morning with the windows down and when I initially pull away there is quite a loud clicking noise which disappears as speed is increased. If you seperate the prop shaft at items 2 then you can remove a cir-clip from items 3 followed by a large seal/washer then the bearings look like they should just slide off of the splined end. The bearings I am talking about are Items 3 (Front and rear centre bearings) These bolt to brackets which in turn are bolted to the U/S of the car.
